1. From outside the network (from home, for example), access the following URL: https://vpn.basementsystems.com

  2. After logging in, you will be asked to download the App for Windows or Mac. Download the one that applies (choose 64 bit if you're on Windows).

  3. After installing, the client should start automatically. In the future, you can start it via the entry in your “Start” menu or the task-bar, or if you are on OSX there will be a globe icon in your menu bar.

  4. Enter the portal (“vpn.basementsystems.com”) and click connect. You will then be prompted to enter your credentials.

  5. After a brief process, you should see "Status: Connected."

  6. *If you are on a Mac, you will have to allow the program to run:
    1. From your Mac endpoint, launch "System Preferences".
    2. Open the Security & Privacy preferences and then select General.
    3. Click the lock icon on the bottom left of the window to make changes and modify preferences.
    4. When prompted, enter your Mac User Name and Password and then Unlock the preferences.
    5. Click "Allow" next to the message "System software from developer "Palo Alto Networks" was blocked from loading."

  7. You should now be able to connect to the VPN!
