Do you have information on the building access keycards?

  • Keycards do not disarm or affect the alarm system at all.
  • Please do not punch holes in the keycard! They are resilient, but there is an antenna inside the whole card, so any punch will stop it from working.
  • Keycards can be used without taking them out of your wallet or purse. For those with thick wallets, as long as the card is near the outside, it should still work. Metallic wallets (including duct tape--you know who you are) will block the signal.
  • Keycards work at assigned times and assigned doors. Unless otherwise arranged, this means the main entrance(s) to your building, between 6am-8pm, Mon-Sat.
  • If you do not yet have a card and need one, please speak with your manager, not IT directly (a manager will need to approve your access).
  • Access at times or for doors other than those specified also need to be arranged through your manager.
  • If you lose your card, notify your manager immediately so it can be disabled. If you find the card before a new one is issued, we can reactivate the old one. Please don't hesitate to let your manager know if yours is missing before anyone else can use your card for nefarious purposes.
  • Please take good care of your keycard as they are expensive to replace. The first replacement is free, but you may be asked to pay for further keycards.
